Dr. Charles C. Chen, DDS

Dr. Charles C. Chen, a Periodontist held in high esteem by his colleagues, graduated from the University of Maryland receiving a B.S. degree and a D.D.S. degree. At the Baltimore College of Dental Surgery, University of Maryland, he participated in the Accelerated Professional Training (Honors) Program to obtain his dental degree. He continued studies there, completing his Post-Doctoral Residency in Periodontics.

After Graduation, he was invited to join the practice of his mentors, Drs. Zupnik and Winson and has enjoyed a wonderful fellowship. In his spare time, he has taught the Post-graduate Periodontal Residency Program; conducted Connective Tissue research, receiving a U.S. patent on Bone/tissue regeneration. He is the founding member of numerous Dental Organizations, and is currently participating with Federal and State initiatives shaping the regulations on digitizing Dental records for patient safety in Prescription drugs.

He was listed by Washingtonian magazine as one of the Top Periodontists in every issue published, also named in the Bethesda Magazine, as well as by the Washington Consumer Checkbook and Angie’s List. He received the perfect score by the Consumer Checkbook for care and service (voted by the patients,) and received the most votes as the Best Periodontist selected by his peers.

His motto has always been: “The most important thing in taking care of patients is to advise them of their options, and try to make sure the choices they make will lead to health, function and beauty not just for the short term, but that will stand the test of time”
